Professional problems today

It is well known fact, that humanist professions are very lucrative today. Since childhood a lot of young people suppose this work to be very attractive. With such an point of view they are educated in their families, go to high school, to a university and at last they begin educating their own children that way. Impasse.
Why is it so? What do make people think that manual operations have lost their importance?
There are several causes.
first present engineering achieved such a high extent of progress that the majority of people is capable of operating it without having special engineering skill. Consequently there is no need for subsequent dissemination of technological skill. Humanits application starts prevailing in all fields of life.
second it is an actual fact that we exist in the consumer society. People in it don’t want to work with their hands. They like to explain the world around and consume products, but not to produce something by themselves. Of course this fact does not affect positively on diffusion of technological education. People are simply not concerned with it.
In the third place is the fact that the resource base has got such a extent of desolation that we frequently have no place for work after studying the theory.
after all a very important thing is the policy of the state. What professions does it suppose as needed nowadays? We can easily learn it by researching our mass-media. The internet, the television, the radio, the press – what ways of life do they promote now? It is easy to prove that they are full of non-technical images. Mass-media display us pleasant, nice life in which there is no place for hard-work, but there are a lot of talks, beautiful scenes and fantasies.
What do we have as a in the issue?
Lack of competent workers in the technical sphere. There are a lot of philosophers, lawyers, artists, singers, politicians, professors but a few people, able to operate for example a any jointer planer. This will cause a dangerous situation when we will be lacking very simple things which are very important for our comfortable existence.
Besides that our education system is totally destroyed. There is no technical literature of high quality – it is either sold or lost. There is no qualified teachers able to train adequate personnel working in technical spheres.
Such is the picture. Sad, isn’t it?
Then, there is an adequate question: what should our country do in order to improve the condition? I think that there are several actions to be taken. firstly our country should change its attitude towards technical professions and specialities and theirs perspectives. Then our country should apply efforts in order to promote engineering specialities in mass-media.
And of course, the best way to preserve technological specialities is to assign enough means both for the payment for the people who work in this sphere and to the creating an adequate resource base.
